Attach a File

Select the content type File in the Edit Test Case Attributes dialog to add an attachment to a test case. Per attribute, one file can be added. The files added here are used by the Assessment Platform for test case specific assessment, see Assessment Platform.

Create an attribute to add a file

The newly created attribute shows a three-dots button in the Value column of the table in the Test Case Details view. Click this button and select a file to be attached.

Select a file in the Test Case Details view

Only one file can be added per attribute. To add more files, create further attributes of the content type File.

There are no restrictions to the file type. But when you want to assess the measurement files with the Assessment Platform by PikeTec, you can only add files of the following format: CSV, TPTBIN, XLSX, XLS, MAT, MF4, MDF, DAT, ACSV. More about using measurement files with the Assessment Platform, see Assessment Platform.

When you load TPT files created with TPT 8, TPT 9, TPT 10, TPT 11, or TPT 12, and measurement files have been added, TPT automatically adds the Test Case Details attribute Measurement File and places the measurement file links in there. If the project also contains an Assessment Platform, the attribute Measurement File will be automatically selected in the Measurement file attribute of the Assessment Platform.

To change the file link, click in the link and press Ctrl+Space.

Add an attachment

To open the file, click in the attributes field and press F2.

To add a file to a TPT project file, use the Description view. See Views - Description.
